JPO to Start a PASS (Push-type Assistance Service for Startups) Trial

The JPO is planning to implement the Push-type Assistance Service for Startups (PASS) on a full-scale basis from fiscal 2024, and will begin a trial in January 2024.

What is Push-type Assistance Service for Startups (PASS)?

This is a measure in which the JPO actively supports startups from the aspect of intellectual property by calling on eligible applicants or their agents to utilize the “Accelerated Examination Utilizing Interviews for Startups” and providing support in terms of examination speed and content.

Other services, “startup-ready super early examination” can also be utilized.
