In light of the recent rapid spread of AI in various fields, the JPO has added more cases to the AI-related technology patent prosecution cases list.

I think that among the cases added this time, the “case concerning an invention of a thing presumed by AI to have a certain function (Materials Informatics)” is particularly instructive as an example of the examination in Japan of a patent application in a case of AI application in the chemical and biotechnology fields.
